iOS 11

Anyone try it yet? Effects on iFlY?

Played with it on the ground, not in flight. Not a deep test, but I saw nothing particularly bothersome. I’ve heard one app developer mention you may need to reset the app's ability to maintain some proceses like location services when in the background.

WAG: iFly GPS is less susceptible to changes in the operating system than most other iOS apps because it is somewhat less integrated into the operating system.

OK, I did it, did not find any big problems with iFly. I have to fly with it. One thing that did quit; the Dual  XGPS-170 app stopped working. A note on the iPad says the app must be updated to work. I sent Dual a note.

How do you do that?? I did find some setting like that for other apps, not iFly. I did change  the settings for anything that uses my location; apps for weather, maps, etc.

Before I made these changes,  I used iFly in the airplaner today. The first thing I noted on the ground  is I got the no GPS position note, then weak GPS, then it started to work. The warning notes continued to reappear. In the air everything was OK. This is using the internal iPad GPS. I did not note these with previous iOS levels. The next time I  will use the Dual GPS and see what happens.

I don’t know if the report was accurate or not. In my iPad I didn’t see any change in settings and I don’t have an internal GPS anyway.

the location settings aren’t in the app. They are in the app's listing in the iPad Settings app.
