I'm using version 9.6.11 on an iPad. Sports TFRs are showing as inactive (brown circles), and there aren't any home games for several days or even weeks, but I still get several warnings as I'm approaching them. There are 2 stadiums around the city and I get 2 or more warnings for each one. There is at least a blue information "ding" at around 5nm and yellow warning "alert" at around 3nm for each one. There shouldn't be any automatic alerts or notices when they are inactive, in my opinion. The brown rings are all that's needed, but if I want more I can touch the ring to bring up the airspace details.

I think the answer from iFly is going to be that "it is virtually impossible for iFly to know when public events are scheduled at sporting events." (E.g., a baseball game that goes into extra innings.) It's my observation that most of the EFB manufacturers (if not all) simply warn you of where stadiums are and it's up to you to determine whether it's safe to fly over.

As for the Alerts, you can always turn them off for Stadium TRF's.

Wing X Pro now claims to tell you the type of event, the time and duration of the event, and even who's playing who...

Wow - that's an impressive feature. (Wonder how much extra they charge for that?) Still, given my example of extra innings in ball games, it seems like their information would come from "unofficial" sources and the user would have to take everything with a grain of salt.

For me, it's easiest to simply avoid (course or altitude) these Sport TFR's (unless I'm talking to ATC). But the OP was about Alerts, not so much the TFR's themselves.

I think Foreflight also does not give alerts when a TFR is not active. Of course the software won't know when a game goes into overtime, but it certainly can know what the game's scheduled day and time is.
