I update charts when they expire. In this case the update cycle is slightly different between charts and annual subscription.

WingX does not do this. It will continue to work while reminding you that you need to renew.

I have posted this on other boards and know from other users and vendors whoes software does what.

In this case my charts hadn't expired, so I didn't pull the units out for update.

I don't know any pilots that fly around with expired data, but many who renew chart company subscriptions when they renew charts.

I think you shot yourself in the foot with this policy, you might want to rethink it. If you default back to the subscription expiration date (seems like this is what used to happen) that would be acceptable. It doesn't have anything to do with cost for me. It's about not screwing around with renewals every time I turn around. I update GPSs twice a year based on chart expirations

All of the chart companies are very similar in price. If I wanted big corporate policies I'd go with a big corporate vendor.

The IFly subscription is good for one year. On your IPad, you can click on Menu - About - My Account to see your expiration date. If I pay for a one year subscription for something, I expect to renew it within one year. It's pretty simple actually. It has nothing to do with chart expiration dates. Many of my charts expire every 56 days.
