What is the min voltage that my unit will operate on? I am using a 12V 7.5AH sealed battery for a power supply, will the iFly run the battery dead,,,, like down to 0V or shut down when it reaches it's min operating votage? (for the wish list) A power supply voltage insturment to keep an eye on the supply source.

Am I correct that the unit pulls about 500ma and my 7.5AH battery should run the iFly for 15 hours on a good day?

Any up dates on the ADS-B receiver progress?

Also I hear there my be a solid state gyro in the works, any info?

I hope all is well. The iFly 700 will run on as little as 9 volts, though it's not receommended. You may actually experience a weaker GPS signal at voltages below 10 volts, but the unit should work down to 9v. We have not had many requests for a voltage meter as the iFly does not havi its own battery, which is where this instrument would shine. We will continue to monitor demand and look at options, as the hardward does not have native support for a voltage meter. There are many inline votage meters that could be added at a very small cost. We will continue to look at these as well as other enhacenments to improve the overall iFly GPS product.

Hi Shane, thanks for the fast reply. I was the one that brought you the bug on the airport information page at S&F, that will teach me to travle with a beta verson! Got out fine and was lucky to have no damage to my Comanche, lost my tent but a small price to pay with up-side-down airplanes around me.

I understand the hardware will not support the voltage instrument, too bad, it could have been a nice addition.

On the other subject, any info on the ADS-B receiver or the gyro instrument question?

Terry,

Good to hear from you again. SnF was an experience to remember for new reasons. I'm glad you got out without damage. We are looking into alternative options, it's just at this time there has been much demand for a vlotage meter.

As for the ADS/B, we are deep into it as well as the Geo-Referenced Approach Plates. Both ADS/B and Geo-Plates/Diagrams will be on our Version 6 Software Update targeted prior to Oshkosh. It's looking for cool. We still have some more testing and tweaking on the gyro instrument as we really want to perfect its accuracy and performance before going to production. We also had a thought of putting a pressure sensor and CO2 meter into it. This would allow it to give "Pressure Altitude" which is much more accurate than any GPS altitude. More to come on it.

ps- Just a future tip. Next time you want to fly long distance with a beta, just download the non-beta version on the your USB or a spare. That way if your experience an issue with the beta, you can update/revert back to the non beta version. Probably right in the air and never miss a beat. Just a tip I use.
