This is a very simple mount made out of 30 thousandths Aluminum on my 1950 Bonanze B-35. There is actually a 6.25 x 3 inch radio opening that was designed to hold a MFD someday behind it. The Adventure Piolot GPS will do everything the MFD would have done with less weight and expense. I formed these with a small Harbor Freight metal brake. They are riveted to the radio channel behind the unit but could just as easily been attached to a flat panel space. The channels of the mount are lined with a thin cork gasket material to prevent any scratches. The unit is held firmly and in a spot where ease of access and readability is maximized. You can remove the unit very quickly for updates or to use in another vehicle.

Thanks for sharing! FYI, for an installation like this, where the iFly is flush against a piece of aluminim, the external antenna might be needed.

Also FYI, (this is for everyone), to add an image right into your post, after uploading select the image from the drop-down and click the "place inline" link. I did this for your images.

I have an external antenna already mounted in both planes at the top of the windshield and will be connected to the back of the unit. Gilson has nice antennas that will stand up to cabin sun and is amplified. They are much smaller than standard GPS pucks. Some have magnets for attaching to a car roof. If yours does, peel back the adhesive sticker on the back and remove them. I can take a photo of it this evening. It is fairly small and out of the way.

Here is a pic of the GPS external antenna. It is also a simple Aluminum shelf attached to the windshield attach bolts with a gasket material to protect surfaces. In this position, the GPS antenna has a complete look at the sky above. There should not be any issues with loss of signal. As you can see, the Gilsson antenna is very small and hardly takes up any room. This is in the Bonanza. In the Piper Archer II, there is an attach bolt at the top of the center spar between the two windshield halves . The Aluminum shelf for the gps antenna is attached to that with equal view of the sky. In the Archer , it is mounted 90 degrees from what you see in this pic.
