It would be nice to have the option to manually set a target altitude vs having it set from the flight plan altitude. Also an option to momentarily flash the target altitude when 1000' and 100' away. This could be used to set MDA/DH, pattern altitude, etc.

Assuming you have the "Target Alt" instrument on your screen and you have a flight plan loaded: once you are under way you can tap on the Target Alt instrument and set the target that way. You can "snap" it to the current altitude by clicking on that button, or click the other button (Altitude Planning) and use the presented dialog box to set your altitude.
