Problem with updating:
I normaly update my 740b via WiFi either at the airport using my cell phone as a WiFi hot spot or I remove the 740 from the airplane and use the WiFi at home, I have never removed the SD card from the iFly 740.

I sudenly started having problems with the updates taking much longer than normal and some files failing to update. Note: I only had the NW states loaded, OR,CA,WA,ID because this is all I need. Not having all the other states loaded made updates with my cell phone hot spot much faster and I pay for data usage on my cell so not updating stuff I don’t use is really nice. Having only these states loaded I did notice one problem, If I did not load the airport images for Oklahoma I had none for the state of Oregon, this was odd but workable.

I called Brolin and he sugested I load everything from all states. I brought the 740 home and tried this, after the 740 was updating for over 12 hours via WiFi at my house it still was not done, only at 10% overall, and I had seen multiple files flash the red "failed to download". So, I canceled the update and tried again. After 13 hours and the exact same 10% overall progress and having seen the red line of failure multiple times I took another piece of advise from Brolin and used the iFly Connect and tried to update the SD card with my laptop. The SD card seems to get recongized by the iFly Connect app but I get a message that it can not be updated because it is protected. Thinking I may have accidently bumped the little lock on the SD card I tried it multiple times moving the switch on the card but I get the same thing. See attached photo of the messge I get on my laptop when using iFly Connect. It appears that I can not update either via WiFi or using the iFly Connect and inserting the SD card in my laptop. I’m thinking something may have happened to the SD card but it was working just fine and then suddenly it wasn’t. The photo below is a screen shot of what I get on my lap top when I tried the iFly Connect method and updating the SD card using my laptop. Thoughts?

SD cards do fail...somewhat more frequently that you might expect based on the reliability of similar technology.  They also can present oddly strange behaviors when they do fail.  If you have another SD card available with sufficient capacity, ask Brolin for help setting it up and see if that resolves your issues.  (Normally, if you have a healthy iFly SD card to start with, I think you can just do a straight "copy all files" from the old to the new, but since your old one is problematic, that may not be the best approach for you.  Brolin may be able to suggest a better alternative that isn't reliant on the old card.)

Brolin, thank you I will watch for them in the mail. Are they ready to install or do I need to do something with them? You may have answered this question in the email you sent but I did not see that email. Your emails don't normally go into my spam but if it did it was just deleted automatically.

Update: I just found your email and will go read it now. I see you actually sent it yesterday but for some reason it just hit my in box this afternoon.
