I recieved my "iFly group buy1" SkyRadar unit last Saturday and started permanent installation yesterday. I have a -9A and I have used velcro to intsalled the unit horizontally on the right side lower kick panel above the lower stringer just above the ruidder cable run. I have uphostry that covers this area. The antenna end of the unit is pointed aft. I am hoping the Blue Tooth antennal will flood the cockpit with a strong signal(for my iphone) even though I am using a USB cable to the iFly. I am using a DME belly-mounted external antenna and a 1 amp Klixon CB. I should finish the install today and power up. I am a little concerned after reading earlier install posts, hope everything works out. Dan

My SkyRadar kit arrived today. But I need help.

I do have the USB cable. Do I just connect it to the iFly display and power-up?

The instruction sheet included appears to be specific to the iPad. Are there instructions specific to iFly available? I.e., hook-up/connections/interface, etc.

I hope all works out with the install. Please keep us up to date on how it works. I'm finding very little feed back on the ifly and skyradar setup. (make that no feed back) I want to get the unit but I would like to know it does work before I join group 2 buy. Now that I have the Twin Comanche I feel the need for better wx up dates and to assist my storm scope in not so nice wx.

Thanks, Terry

I received my SkyRadar this morning, and attemped to connect it to my iFly. No joy, the iFly said it saw a unknown device and asked for a device driver name to be entered, which of course is not possible on the iFly. I spoke with Ed at customer support who thought my Windows operating system might be in need of updating (I purchased my iFly Jan 2011) and is sending a SD card to do so by snail mail. For what it's worth, he also said that the GPS antenna that is supplied with the SkyRadar is not required when it is used with the iFly.

Any success stories out there?

Dave

My iFly is 7 months older than yours and it is prompting for the device driver stuff with the new SkyRadar plugged in. I should get it sorted out in short order.

The iFly 700 ROCKS .....
