Something I've noticed is that if I look at the screen from below center viewing, it looks dimmer. I notice about a 10-15% increase in brightness if I look at the screen from about 10-15 degrees above center. Seems the Samsung screen is pixel shifted as it would most likely be below eye level. My experience is aiming directly at me actually causes a slightly dimmer visual that if I tilt the top edge towards me about 1/4 - 1/2 inch. This actually yeilds a brighter screen and if I wear a dark shirt, a very visible screen even in direct sunlight.

Also, make sure you re-select Day Mode and increase to full brightness. A common problem is to land in night mode and come back out a day or so later only to increase the brightness. This does not remove the digital darkening layer we add for night mode. Big difference we notice after adding Day/Night Mode.

Shane: Just to make sure I am on the 'same page', where is this Day Mode/Night Mode located???

I also noticed the improvement in brightness in the 10°-15° viewing zone, above the 90° to the device.

Good to hear, I think this will help. The Day/Night Mode is located in the Mode Menu towards the bottom. From the Map, touch Mode and you should see Day / Night Mode. With that said, you will need to make sure you have version 5 software. You can check this by touching Menu, About and Version & Contact from the Map page. On the second line, you will see the software version. The current version is 5.15. I hope this helps.
