Of course I suggest cleaning the suction cup and the surface, sounds like you have already done that. Can you try your suction cup on a pane of glass and see if you have the same issue? If so, maybe your suction cup needs to be replaced. If not, it would indicate there is some crazing on your plexiglass that is leaking in air.

I've heard of folks using hair gel to make a better seal, but I've not tried this myself - and I'm not sure how that would affect plexiglass. A while back I had some prototype suction cup solutions that included a thick layer of sticky goo on the suction cup, it was not really a glue - but it was designed for permanently installing the cup on a surface. Removal left a difficult to clean mess. But if this is something you might be interested in I can request some samples to ship your way.

Walter, I would like to try the product you mentioned if you have some to forward over. I don't mind the difficulty removing it when I eventually have to take off the ifly as long as there is no permanent damage to the plexiglass.

Thanks, Walter. I have used a glass cleaner to see if better adhesion would result and so far the unit has held the past few days. I used a cleaner when I first installed the unit months ago but eventually it did came loose so maybe just removing the unit every month or two, recleaning, and re-attaching it will prove satisfactory until something better comes along.
