FYI, "Airplane mode" has traditionally been a mode where all transmitting radios are turned off.

Since GPS works simply by receiving signals from the GPS satellites and doing math (so no outgoing trasmission from the phone is required), it is not usually turned off in "airplane mode".

However, iOS devices prior to v8.2 did turn off GPS in airplane mode. I have no idea why.

In the future, "airplane mode" may become more relaxed, where it only turns off the voice/data cell radio transmitter, but leaves Bluetooth and/or WiFi enabled.

Today, I flew within 15 NM of PVD which has an ADS-B ground station. I was at 2500 feet and actually going thru spot showers... Flight was over 40 minutes... Still for the whole trip, the app showed "Not Receiving" even though the Ifly GPS insturment said ADS-B and it said the Dual was connected.... I even went to the Maps screen and checked for Nexrad and it said "0" minutes.

When I did land, I switched over to WIFI and my Verizon Data Plan. I then easily saw the NexRad data come in on the Ifly app. Brian, I did what you said and emailed you the log files.. Hey there is always the possibility that this 2 week old Dual unit is defective....

Does you ADS-B receiver have a small switch to choose Android or Apple? Do you have it set properly? Also, does that unit require the helper app for the bluetooth connection? I had one but don't remember.

Switch is set to other (android). Also I'm told by others I don't need the helper app...
