Actually, that's and excellent question. The answer is two part, receiver and transceiver. If you choose to go the receiver or "In" route, the iLevil2 SW is the way to go. I do think you'll see an AHRS version of the Pathfinder, but it may only be singe band receive.

Now, when it comes to AHRS in an ADSB Transceiver, there really is only one option... the SkyGuardTWX Vision Pro Plus. It's the only AHRS embedded ADSB In/Out on the market for the time being. But that maybe changing in the near future, I've pushed for this with a couple of the other ADSB manufacturers so I think it will eventually take hold.

AHRS is taking off and I think you'll see other ADSB makers adding it, but at this time in the market, I really like the iLevil2 SW and the SkyGuardTWX VP+. Just an FYI, the VP+ uses the iLevil AHRS module, which in my opinion is the most dependable and accurate .

ADS-B in will give you a very low percentage of the traffic unless you just happen to intercept a ground station signal being sent to a nearby ADS-B out aircraft. I bought a Dual XGPS 170 but soon sold it on Ebay and got a SkyGuard transceiver. People can have different opinions on this, but we each can have an opinion. This in mine.

Alex,

Maybe I can give some you info on ADS-B In. If you are set on ADS-B In, and using it on an iPad or Android, the Dual XGPS 170 is a very reliable unit. As long as you know traffic will be greatly reduced, it is probably the best value on the market for ADS-B In. Keep in mind it will not work with the iFly dedicated devices as it is Bluetooth. If you want to use with an iPad and an iFly, look at the Pathfinder by Flight Data Systems, it's WiFi and a very solid performer too. These are some great basic ADS-B receivers for good Weather and limited traffic...........

Thanks again Shane:

Do I take it correctly that any of the units you mentioned as your text went further below the Pathfinder (other than the bluetooth one that's only good with iPad) can plug directly into the dedicated iFly 740, 720, etc?

Shane, Rather than taking this further off the main subject (which was ADS-B in on Ipad iFly) I'm going to post a separate topic "AHRS only input to iFly, suggestions/recommendations."

Would you have a look at that one, as this thread raised some questions on that tack?
(I'll put it most likely in the GENERAL section, or owner Q&A.)

Alex,

Yes, all but the Dual XGPS 170 are WiFi and will connect wirelessly to the iFly 740 and 720. Then the iFly receives the AHRS data along with the ADSB data. It will then use that AHRS data to drive the AH, Attitude Alerts and Synthetic Vision in the future. Yes, this will be added in the future, we just don't have a firm timeline for it yet.
