Has anyone noticed that occasion you see a couple targets with the same N nmber going different directions?

Yes, I have seen that -- it just appears momentarily.

In the past, we used to have "ghost traffic" that would persist, so this latest phenomenon is actually NOT as bad and overall, performance is still improving.

When I see a target break in two like that, I zoom in to check the tail numbers to ensure they are not different.

generally means he has an adsb out issue
