After successfully getting the Stratux AHARS to connect, I notice that the attitude instrument on the IFly was very jittery. The AHARS is so sensitive it needs a firm platform and my glareshield where the Strautx was mounted was not solid. I tightened the glareshield mounting which helped, but it was still jittery.  I then made two "U" shaped pieces of aluminum 1/2" wide to fit tight around the Stratux and screwed them to the glareshield. Now the attitude instrument on the IFly is very solid and easy to see.

I haven't been to the stratux sites in a couple months.  Is the AHRS data still GPS-derived or did someone finally slay that dragon?  I tried for over 18 months with no success with the MEMS IMU's available on the market for less than a million bucks.

Walter or Brian, when will iFly GPS support the Stratux AHRS module.  I just ordered one from Amazon.

My Stratux has worked fine once I learned how to connect correctly to the IFly.  As mentioned earlier, it needs a firm place to see sit to keep the AH from moving in a jittery fashion. I believe the Open Flight Soultions ADAHRS has its own acceleromater as there was one on the new board I put in.

Yes, it works.  We have one here we've been playing with.  Doesn't seem super accurate yet, and it does require augmenting with GPS data.  (I believe it always will - the chip being used is similar to what you find in a smartphone - it's not a super high quality AHRS like you find in an iLevil device)
