Did you know....?

If you set your device to log ADSB flights you can play your entire flight back when you return home.

I found it alarming that I could see so many targets that came close to me in my flight.

This is a great feature. Try it.

John --  Can you be a lot more specific?  How does one log ADSB traffic? (I have "Enable ADS-B Logger" checked... it that the same things?) How does one play back the flight?  Thanks!

Robert:

To play back the flight:

MENU> ABOUT> CONNECTED DEVICES> Under Wireless Device Options go to the last page an select START ADSB PLAYBACK then select the ADSB file you want to see. A scree will come up ETER PLAYBACK SPEED. I use 20 just to speed up the playback. hit DONE. Then hit CLOSE.

The screen will show everything you saw on the original trip.

Pretty slick.

With Version 11 the procedure is Menu -> Start Simulation Mode -> Replay ADSB Recording.

Thanks Walter.  I tried, successfully, to do this on my 740b and it worked, but it was very, very jerky and slow to catch up.   So, I got the idea to copy the ADS-B bin file (Adsb_2020_02_25-11.29.bin, 2/25/2020 1:23 PM) from my 740b to my Windows, and replay it on my Windows instance of iFlyGPS.

The good news is that once I put the file where it belonged, the Windows instance saw it (and others I didn't know I had) and let me play it.

But.....  When I replayed the ADS-B file on the 740b, I saw targets and other ADS-B related info.  When I did the same on the Windows instance, I saw my aircraft and it's track, but none of the ADS-B targets showed up.

In the image below, I've got, at the top, the screen of the 740b showing several ADS-B targets... the bottom part of the image is a capture from my Windows instance, at almost exactly the same point in the file, but it shows none of the ADS-B targets.  Am I missing a file?  I tried to get all the log files.  So what am I doing wrong?  How do I transfer all the info from the 740b to Windows???
