Zoom Levels

Good day Walter...

What level of zoom on the IFly equates the size of a paper chart?

Is there any way to extend the zoom? I am mainly thinking about the approach corridors.

Hi Charles,

Zoom level "4" is about the same size as the paper chart. You can zoom to level 1 making the chart about 2.5x actual size...or you can zoom to level 10 making the entire chart fit about half the iFly screen.

Is there any hope that the Approach Charts will someday be of higher resolution when the the whole chart is zoomed to fill the screen? I was disappointed to find that the current resolution of approach charts is almost impossible to hard to read when I view a whole chart.

Or is this strictly a function of the screen's pixels per inch?

One reason for this is the 800x480 resolution; it's a lot of data show on this screen. However a secondary cause is the algorithim used to zoom-out the image; there is an opportunity to improve this, and it's on my radar.
