Hello, I just got the Skyguard ADS-B package installed in my plane. According to the instructions, the red light on the GPS antenna should be red all the time. Mine is constantly flashing slowly. I havent flown it yet, but it did show overhead traffic while I was on the ground. Is it possble the antenna is bad or should I just fly it first and see what happen On the 720 screen the signal strength for the WAAS is green and the ADSB shows a white bar, Thanks for any help.

I just wanted to make sure there was no confusion here. The SkyGaurdTWX GPS antenna will actually blink when it has a GPS signal lock. It is solid, when initializing or not locked on. So, here is a basic outline:

  • GPS antenna light "Solid" - no GPS lock
  • GPS antenna light "Blinking" - GPS has position lock.

You can also reference the "Fix Quality" instrument on the iFly. It will show an ADS-B / Green Bar if the SkyGaurdTWX has a GPS lock. I hope this helps.
