Yes, you may purchase or move to a larger SD card for your iFly 700, iFly 520 or iFly 720. If you already have SD card of the size you want, you can skip to the steps below. We do recommend using a high-quality SD Card like Sandisk or Samsung... do not use a generic or Patriot, these have been known to cause problems.

They are also available on our online store, under the SHOP button. They come pre-loaded with the latest software, databases and FAA charts. They are available in 8gb and 16gb card sizes with or without out iFly Streets. Click Here for Pricing Details.

Here is the procedure to create a second card:

  1. Insert the new "larger" blank SD card into your PC or Mac.
  2. Create a new "iFly BackUp" folder on your desktop.
  3. Copy the complete contents of original card to folder you created in step 2. (all Folders and Files)
  4. Format new larger SD card to Fat 32.
  5. Paste copied contents from the Backup folder to the root (not in any folders) of the new SD card.
  6. Eject the larger SD card from your PC or Mac and insert into the iFly GPS.
  7. Power on and run the navigation software on the iFly GPS and you are finished.

If you have a card with iFly Streets, the Streets software with only run on the original card not a copy as the iFly Streets license is bound to the SD card. If you are uncomfortable with moving files around, please contact our Support department and they will be happy to walk you through this procedure.

This is also in the Common Support Inquiries under the Support Tab. Under the Other Tab. I hope this helps.
