Hi All, This is more of a usability or choreography question while flying. Creating a fligh plan prior to flight is easy, however, making adjustments during flight seems tricky. When I fly with my garmin 430, (a) for vfr I can quickly navigate "direct to" an airport (D-> button, knob to select destination or knob down to find nearest; (b) on ifr I can hit proc button and select approach for my destination. I just can't figure out how to quickly pull up a plate without fumbling around -- by quick I mean 5-10 seconds without a lot of focus on the button on the screen.

Here are my steps to find airport
1) Tab Menu
2) Tap direct To
3) type in airport -- difficult to due while plan is bouncing around

Here are my steps for procedure:
(can anyone confirm if this is new for 7.7? It seems a little better)
1)tap mode
2)tap plates & diagrams
3) tap destinations(s)
4) tap my destinations
5) select instrument approaches
6) select the approach

Hopefully someone can help on the best way to navigate in flight
Al

Not a formal response, but here's my 2 cents.

For "Direct To" what I usually do in flight is start by tapping on the destination airport on the map (instead of typing in its name).

For procedures, I usually try to anticipate the ones I will need and I view them before the flight. That way they are available under "History" using fewer clicks.
