As an added thought those of us willing to purchase a second SDcard could perform the update take the current card to the airport for an exchange. Another thought might be a way to plan a flight on the PC and dump it to the card so things are all set for the next flight.

Just a thought.

I used the new SIMM update on my extra SIMM card from the Streets update. It took 30 minutes for the computer up update everything. It should be much quicker when the monthly updates come out. Next time I fly I will swap out SIMM cards and bring the spare home to update before I fly again. I must to leave a SIMM in the plane so the plane is ready for others to fly anytime. A great improvement over the 2 GIG memory flash drive. Thanks

I plan to pick up a second SD card and swap them at the airport rather than bring the iFly home after every flight. Does the SD card need to be anything special to work in hte iFly or will any 8GB SD card work.

Also, for the initial set up do you just do a simple copy between the two cards?

Tim, the navigation app will work with a simple copy to another SD card. However both SD cards will be "bound" to your iFly, in other words - you cannot copy the SD card and use it in another iFly GPS - it'll give you an error.

But iFly Streets is different - it can only run from the SD card it was installed on.

Thanks,
Walter
