I just saw a demo of Wing X. It offers the capability to calibrate your altimeter with the GPS reading. Would that be possible with the iFly to increase accuracy?

I wouldn't think so because OTHER planes are flying on pressure altitude and not GPS alt.

I think WingX lets you enter the pressure altitude so it can calculate the delta from GPS altitude, and display an estimated pressure altitude thereafter. We could do the same. But you would need to keep up with this as altitude and distance traveled can really change that delta. So you would still need to pay attention to your actual altimeter. About the only value I can think of is more accurate warnings for airspaces. And even then, that doesn't really save you much based on the effort of entering the data.

But maybe I'm misunderstanding something...?

If I recall from the demo, you would enter your current altitude from your altimeter. It is at the beginning of this video:

You would no doubt need to update it frequently.

Right. I really do not see much benefit in that feature considering how much work it would be to maintain the data.
