I have posted some pictures of weather to my Picasa page that I took on a return flight from a fly-in at Thomasville, Ga. The quality is not good as i was flying in bumpy air, trying to take a picture and watch out for towers, but they will give you an idea of the picture you get on the Ifly. The Iphone is picking up the wi-fi signal from the SkyRadar and works very well except it's a small screen. Hope these help and any questions, just ask. I was very low on parts of this flight so was probably not gettin good reception all the time. This was in a Rans S7S.

Really nice!

You can see some water on your window in the first one.

Ollie, thanks for the pics. The stripes in your images should not really be there after 5 minutes or so of receiving data. As you note, this might be because of poor ADSB reception...did you see missing data on the iPhone as well? If not, it might be another problem...

Ollie, I'm having trouble aligning the iPhone and iFly images, but it looks like the echos painted on the screen are fairly different.

In pic #1, for instance, iFly shows you in the middle of some strong echoes, but iPhone shows you in green echoes.

Pics 3 and 5 seem to be the other way around--iPhone shows you in green echoes, but iFly shows you "in the clear". (Oh, wait...maybe I'm misinterpreting your aircraft position on the iPhone. Is your plane the smaller x, not the one at the center of the compass rose?)

Could you talk a little about whether the two devices were giving you the same info? Does the iPhone just show "green" for some echoes that the iFly shows yellow or red?

Thanks for the pics!

Walter,

I have noticed the strips before and no, they do not show on the Iphone.
