AMOLED burn-in from a static image takes longer than a few hours of use to appear. However, viewing a static image a few hours each day over the course of a few days or weeks is when you would begin to see a change. My point was, if someone purchases a tablet for use with a specific application, AMOLED technology is susceptible to image retention. LCD & LED screens don't exhibit this symptom - the iFly GPS hardware utilizes LCD technology and doesn't have this issue.

Okay. One possible work around, if AMOLED, would be to alternate rotations of one's table each time, so that, physically, the tablet is right side up on one day and "upside down" (but the image auto-rotates and corrects) the other day. Except for upside down logos (and perhaps upside down physical buttons), shouldn't be a problem if no cables hooked to one's tablet.

Nice chart. Thanks.

I use Galaxy Note 4 and LG Gpad with a skylight in my Avid Flyer with plenty of brightness.

I'm the OP and finally found the answer to my question  when the battery on my Samsung Tablet died. Found out that my Samsung S8+ phone is almost as bright as my 740. Am leaving the tablet on the ground now.

I just bought a Samsung Tab A from COSTCO ($129.00). It is WiFi only and the screen is bright enough that I can see the display even though I have top glass in my Avid Flyer.

But wait...

It even has an outdoor screen mode. You go to display and touch the outdoor display and the brightness jumps up a LOT. However, that will use up battery quicker. I haven't had to use this function, but many might want it if they are running the tablet from aircraft power.
