Why are they so important for vfr flying?

When I'm VFR, and want to skirt round a MOA or similar, or just line myself up better for an approach, I'll often drop one or 2 of them into the flight plan. Allows me greater flexibility with planning.

To each his/her own. I just look at the chart and fly wherever I need to go or use the rubber banding feature.

Ian I have good news for you. Due to the ease of implementation for this feature, we are going to give it a stab for v9.4 (the next release). The first thing we're planning to do is show Fixes when zoomed further in (so that the sheer number of them won't overwhelm the display). I can't make any promises yet on how this will turn out for 9.4, but can tell you that it's now on my work plan to give it a try.
