I agree that paper is likely obsolete, at least for manuals such as this. However, the old method may work. I think part of the problem is that if you put out a complete new manual for each change, everyone is going to have to read the entire manual each time to see what has changed. If they were to simply publish a change 1,2, 3, whatever, and tell where to insert each page in the old/original manual we'd only have to read the manual once, then read through the changes to see what's new. As has been said before, the iFly software changes so much, so fast that I doubt/hope there is never a "final" manual. The hardest part of this would be figuring out how to translate the programmers notes and such into "Manual" language in an efficient manner.

I agree with what you are suggesting except don't use paper. They should change and/or update sections as changes to iFly take place. On the first page of the manual make a list of the sections that have changed. Then post the updated manual on their website so we can download the entire manual with all the updates clearly listed. There is no need to fool around with paper documents in 2016 and beyond. The entire document could be downloaded in seconds, not minutes. If someone actually wanted a paper manual, they could simply print the revised pages and input them into their paper manual they had previously printed or they could print the entire manual again.

Did you know...?

If you have ADS-B Status set up on your added instruments display, you can tap on it when you get the "OUT OF RANGE" message and it with tell you that you have several towers in range, but nothing is currently coming from those towers.

So "out of range" appears to be a misnomer and I believe the IFLY staff will soon be changing it to something that reflects what is actually going on with your ADS-B signal.

Regarding the manual and updates: The manual could be a single color, and updates would simply be a unique color. In other words, the updates for the most recent release would be in the reserved (unique) color, with the the following updates, the previous updates would be the same color as the overall manual, and so on. Allowing the company to do this would be the easiest and most efficient way of avoiding confusion.

Did you know??

When you set up your flight plan your screen should show the final destination. EX: "Final KOSH." That is if you set up the info boxes to show your final destination. Just touch that box on your screen as you approach that final airport and up pops all the info you'll need on that airport.

It would be even better if IFLY would actually list the identifier of each airport we are going to land at, on the way to the final so we could just touch on the ID in in the "Dist: waypoint" so we could quickly get the same airport info on the way.

Of course, you can call up the flight plan and touch the waypoint airport and get the info, but this would just involve less steps.
