I had not downloaded a weather file to the GPS since I did the update last week. In answer to your question, when I downloaded a weather file, it does show the airport overlays, METAR, TAF, and Winds Aloft.

I'll zip up this morning's data files and send along with an email to support.

Okay, thanks for that info. I have a theory that downloading those data files may have "primed" the ADSB text weather feed. Please let me know if, on your next flight, ADSB weather is working properly. In the meantime this is a high priority bug and we'll certainly have this fixed in our next release.

Thanks,
Walter

The weather seemed to work fine today after downloading a weather file last night. However, today I was flying with my old SkyRadar L in the other plane. The issue happened with the SkyGuard vision pro yesterday. The plane with the skyguard vision pro is going to be down for a week or so, so I'm unable to test with it.

I suspect your theory is correct. However, I had downloaded a weather file with the upgrade/update. I just didn't boot up the GPS until a few days later. I guess for some reason that didn't "prime" it?

I'll update you again once the plane is fixed and I can test again with the SkyGuard unit.

Thank you,

Since the software update, I have the same problem with NOT receiving any text wx info while in flight, however the radar coverage is still good. I'm not a fan of 8.xx just yet...it dumped my custom instruments screen just as I was getting used to it, I can't see some of the faded buttons in bright sunlight and now I can't get the in-flight metars, tafs, etc. at my destinations...one of the big reasons I bought the 720. The problem is, I can't even test it without flying as there are no ADS-B towers nearby. How should I proceed? Thanks.

Rob

While Beta testing Brian providedus the following info re: Customized Instruments:

For those who have customized your Version 7 instrument layouts, and want to port these layouts to version 8, here's how.

1. In version 8, select "Menu => Setup => Instrument Layouts" ... brings up the form.

2. Then do "Select Layout => Restore Default Layout => Import Ver 7 Layouts". This will append your version 7 layouts to the list (they'll show at the bottom).

Note:If "Import Ver 7 Layouts" doesn't appear as an option, that means iFly didn't find any customized layouts for the current Screen orientation.

3. Now you can delete the version 8 layouts that you don't want.

4. You will need to do this for both normal map mode and "Instrument Panel", as desired.

Note that version 8 large instruments are 10 pixels narrower than version 7. So if you used any large instrument boxes, you may see this gap, and want to tweak your layouts to close these gaps.
