I am looking to buy a non-working Lowrance 2000 or 2000c. I need to replace the front panal with the buttons.

Hello Joseph
Are you still looking for a Lowrance 2000C?
I have one that the display was starting to get a little dim, that is why I bought the 700 iFly. Other than the dim display it looks new and have every thing that came with unit. I really liked the GPS and felt comfortable using it.
Thank you
Jim

Jim, Yes & no. I want to fix my Lowrance to use as a backup to my iFly. Now that I have come into the 21st Century and own a smart phone the need is not as urgent. So my answer depends on how much you want for your 2000. Joseph

There's an easy proceedure you can do yourself that fixes most 2000C problems. Open the case by removing the Torx screws around the edge. Find the white ribbon cable that joins the two halves. Carefully un-plug it. Clean the male and female contacs well with contact cleaner and put it back together. Hope it works for you.

I had an Airmap 1000 that the display LED lights went out. The button lights still worked. I opened it up a couple of times but do not remember seeing the ribbon cable you mentioned. The 1000 served me well, and was the best GPS for the money at the time. I gave it to a hanger neighbor to use in his Mooney Mite after I got the iFly, since he does not fly at night.
